Environmentally Conscious Printing
Every decision made at Intertype from the start to finish of every print order is made with consideration to our environmental impact. Â This includes:
- Use of only FSC or PEFC certified paper, which guarantees responsible forest management
- Lighter paper weights when possible to reduce raw material use and shipping emissions
- Opt for uncoated stocks when possible - coatings and laminate finishes are not as easily recyclable
- Use of Soy Based Inks for Offset Printing
- Avoid heavy metal pigments in spot colours
- Print-on-demand (POD) eliminates overruns and pulping of unsold stock — the single biggest source of waste in traditional publishing
- Digital proofing instead of physical press proofs saves paper and ink
- Robust Paper Recycling Program to ensure paper waste does not end up in landfill
